Yesterday, I passed a car hauler carrying two high country silverados in single cabs. When I went to chevrolet.com to try and configure that option, the only thing you get with single cab is the work truck. Anyone know how this was able to be pulled off?

Hummm never seen it and never knew it was possible.

Guess a better question is why would anyone want that on a loaded High Country?

Can't imagine my 2023 High Country only being a single cab......yuck. 😉

It was pretty common until they were turned into family vehicles. I remember fondly a 1970 CST 402 2 door Chevy truck. The sportiest fastest vehicle in 1979 was a little red express truck. Different strokes.

50-years ago?

Yea, I guess things do eventually change.  😆

No family vehicle here.....just a nice ton of interior protected areas to haul stuff, which is what a truck is all about since it's inception. There's a reason they don't build them......'cause they don't sell, period.

The Little Red Express truck was very short lived and faded faster than it appeared, that appealed to a very few real truck owners. They built less than 8,000 total production......that's about 1-weeks production of todays Silverados.  🙃

My brother bought one new. Still has it, runs 11s. It was a very popular limited edition vehicle. Ram brought it back for another limited run. Just like the TRX and Hellcat. GM has?

Who really cares?

if I wanted a vehicle for speed, I sure wouldn’t be looking in the truck market. 😆
That’s not why 99% of the people purchase trucks.

if it was so popular they would have continued to make it and make a big profit. Obviously it isn’t because nobody really wanted them, is a niche vehicle that didn’t sell well.
Your point on the subject at hand?

Manufactures aren’t stupid they make with sells….. thus why standard cabs haven’t been available in abundance for a long time.

You really don’t know your truck history. Don’t take my word for it look it up. Your right people would rather drive slow trucks.😵‍💫

It’s on its 3rd restoration. The original 360 was modified to run 13s. It only runs 11s on its second 440 because he doesn’t want to put a roll bar in it. The last 440 cost more than his truck. In the mid 2000s he and his son had two diesel trucks that ran in the 12s. The yellow banana one was called and featured in a diesel truck magazine. My first 91 12 valve ran 14s my other brother ran 13s with a banks 6 gun and minor transmission mods with his Ram. That a very short list of our modifications over the years with our work trucks. Doesn’t count our cars.
