What can I swap my 2014 Silverado 1500 lt 5.3 engine with that gives me more power at a decent price?

If it was me and I got my hands on a 14 cheap with a bad motor. I would rebuild it or buy a rebuilt short block. Get rid of the cylinder deactivation if it wasn’t E-85 ready I would do that. Just that gets you 380 HP. Put headers and a tune you’re knocking on the 400HP door. Then I gear it. I’d have to check cruising RPMs at 70 mph. If it sees highway often I would target 25-2800 RPMs. If not 3-3200 RPMs. Get it running good see how the transmission is along with the rest of the truck. Then she’d get a blower. I’ve done that with cars and trucks a few times. I like slow and deliberate rather than all at once.

I agree with Karnut.

Pull your 5.3, freshen it up, add a mild cam while doing so, then optimize that setup with some bolt-ons and tuning. Focus on torque numbers in a usable rpm range, forget HP numbers unless you want to race it.
