Lubrication?

Hey all! I have the dreaded driveline clunk. I dont want to buy the new yoke for the fix right now. Everyone says that if I lube up the yoke where it fits into the TC that it will get rid of it for a time. My question is what lube do I need to put in it. Thanks in advance!!

The dealer did mine up when I had problems, and from what I recall of previous discussions here, it's some special grease for the splines.

i remember reading about this on "mychevytruck.com"; someone used a thick teflon based lube & claims to have no problems (he is 5000mi +) since his fix.

On my 98' Tahoe I have removed cleaned and lubed the yolk 3 times in 2000 miles using Havoline synthetic chassis lube. My question is, does the lube migrate into the transfer case fluid and if so, how much sooner should I change it out.

I called and talked to a local Chevrolet dealer where I bought my truck. They use some special lubricant sold only in, I think an 8oz. can. I asked the service tech how much I would need and he said about a thimble full. So for the ungodly price they wanted for it, I think I'll just try a real heavy grease.
