Greetings all.

I bought a '23 Denali 1500 and installed a rough country 3.5 lift. Love the truck. I took it to the dealer for the free oil change. The rep told me it had a bunch of error codes (attached pic), and he needs to get the truck back in.

It seemed weird to me, because the truck runs and drives perfect, and it's never had a check engine light. Only thing I can think is the lift, which involved disconnecting and re-connecting various wires. But everything is connected properly right now.

Has anyone seen these error codes?

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thank you.

A quess.

I bet you didn't remove battery cables before you unhooked wires for the lift install. Freaked the system out.

Have you disconnected the battery and see if it clears the codes. I would try that, drive it then any auto store will read codes for free to see if they come back.

I'm thinking it freaked out, set the codes but it can't be to bad or it wouldn't run right.

This is something new GM has dealers doing.  Its called a SAVI report.  They have a dongle that plugs into the OBDII connector to pull codes and data for your vehicle when its there for service.

The first two the P codes.  If they didn't repeat failure so it was just a one time quick fluke, then its probably fine.

The other ones the U codes.  Do you have any sort of device on the truck for correcting the tire size?  Or in your OBD port?

Thanks Diyer2. I did not disconnect. Hopefully that’s all it is. I’ll try battery reset. I wonder if autozone will show these codes since there’s no check engine lights?

newdude, thanks, that’s interesting. Yes I saw him connect something bottom left of steering console. I don’t have anything connected for tire size correction though. 🤷‍♂️

Gotcha.  Lots of times devices like that or that are interfaced in the OBDII can set those loss of communication codes.

The funny thing is too, you can have not a single issue and those will still be there if there was some sort of blip.  The modules log them until they clear on their own.

Right. My concern is that some show “active”. I guess I’ll let the dealer look into it.

I just don’t trust dealers and I usually try to avoid them
