2020 Silverado active shutter communication lost. Causes the Engine light to come on and won't allow for remote start. Had this repaired once already at the dealer. Thus is getting stupid. Why does the shutter control module keep shorting out? I'm not paying another $200.00 for another shutter assembly. Help!!

It is a 2020 Silverado. I think we purchased it in February of 2020.

Check the wiring for the shutter.  There is a couple spots where they rub through where they pass through the front support.  Lots of sharp edges.  Wiring I think runs down the driver's side.  

 

Could also be a wiring issue in the engine harness which these trucks are known for.  

 

If that shutter was replaced recently, the part itself would still be under warranty for 2 years/unlimited miles from its install date, even if you are out of bumper to bumper.

There was a recall for the wiring on certain trucks as well due to improper routing of the shutter wiring causing it to rub through and short out.

Yes I have brought that up to the dealership and they contend there was no such recall.
