2014 Silverado Radio Display Screen

Hello all,

I have a 2014 silverado that the display screen above the radio is black yet the radio keeps playing. In doing google searches I see it maybe could be a bad hmi, or a bad display screen, or a wiring issue somewhere,  or a third or fourth thing I think.  I'm hoping with the information I provided someone can point me to something a bit more specific.

This happened to my truck and replacing the HMI module fixed it.

 I ended up finding that if I wiggled the wire and blue connector going into the HMI it would work off and on. So I unplugged it, plugged it back in a few times, and for now it seems to work fine. Maybe the truck will make it another 8 years before it happens again.
