Lumbar Support

'22 Sierra SLE 2500HD.

 

Truck has the electric lumbar support button, but not the Memory Seat feature button on the door.

 

I have noticed that I can feel the lumbar support move when using the electric control, as expected. However, over time it seems the lumbar reverts to the default (flat) position, as I can then move the lumbar again. To test, I have moved the lumbar to the maximum, then some time later (after turning off and leaving truck) I can again move it out to maximum. I checked the manual, but it does not address this, so am wondering if anyone knows if it normally returns to default position or if mine is not working correctly.

 

And, upon reading the manual, I just found "....forward to increase or rearward to decrease upper and lower lumbar support at the same time...." To me, this suggests there is a way to move both independently, but it makes no further mention of this, nor is there an obvious, to me, way to do this.  And I did not even know there was an upper and lower lumbar support. Can anyone enlighten me?

It’s an air bladder isn’t it?  I suspect it leaks down through an imperfect check valve.

Thanks for the reply. The manual was not clear on what type of system it was so not sure if it is a bladder or not. Will have to do a bit of research, I suppose.
