They just replaced the seal and they stated they drove it. I drove 1 mile after picking up the truck and now the transfer case sounds like rocks in a coke can. They are trying to state it was already about to go or probably was. Now, I have to fight with the other warranty company I bought just in case GM decided to not cover stuff which they didn't and see if they want to cover a new transfer case now that whatever is going on is even worse than just a leak that was happening before an no noises

Tater86 - Were you able to get the leak resolved the third go around and if so, what was the solution?  I just bought a 2024 and at 600 miles I noticed a fluid leak.  Took it in and they replaced the "transmission extension seal".  After an additional 200 miles I'm once again noticing drips coming from the weep holes between the transmission and transfer case.

Not yet, I took it to a new dealer to have them determine the issue and during the first appointment they show it is still the same thing, input shaft seal on the transfer case. They had to wait for the seal to come in and I'm taking it in this coming Monday. While they have it apart they are going to fully inspect the shaft and transfer case. This dealer said there is no way after 3 replacements it should be still leaking so they think something else is going on that the other dealer missed. So I'll keep you posted after it gets repaired this time.

Finally got my transfer case seal issue corrected! The issue with the first dealer was they only replaced the seal and didn't use the correct tool to install it.

2024 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax diesel noticed two leak spots in my driveway this morning went underneath. It looks like the front transfer case and the rear case are both leaking. I’ve had this truck only a month first issue was it pulled and vibrated like crazy they had to replace the tires. Talking brand new tires from the factory were bad at least one of was. I know it’s off-topic but my 2023 Corvette leaks oil and the transmission slipping not particularly fond of Chevrolet right now.

Did you have Michelin tires? I had to have two of mine replaced under warranty to coming from the factory bad.

They've been having problems with the seals between the transmission and t-case since the 2020s came out.  Its a stupid design seal setup they went to.  Seems to only be affecting the 10 speed trucks.

Here's the PI on the leak situation - MC-10239150-9999.pdf (nhtsa.gov)

Here's the PI they have on the seal on the T-case side and how as of 2022 they are engineering a special tool for installing the seal to the proper depth.  MC-10201286-9999.pdf (nhtsa.gov)

Both seals on either end have to be installed at a certain depth point on both components.  I wouldn't be shocked if its a misalignment issue going on during component assembly so transmission or T-case, or they are having an alignment issue during powertrain assembly so when the t-case is being mated to the transmission as they want to make sure the bolt sequence is followed when installing the t-case.

Hi guys i have the same issue with the front output shaft leaking.  Not the transfer to transmission seals no leak there.  3000miles started to weap. Had the front output seal replace,  1000miles later leaking again.  Mech said its the spline seal. Wants to replace the whole transfer case but this will probably cause more issues because doesn't the mechanic need to set these seals in perfectly?? Has anyone got the schematics for the internals of the transfer case?? Maybe numbered with gm parts numbers. Just so i can see this spline seal??

Can this spline seal be replaced without the transfer being removed??

Thanking you in advance

Have a great day

No need for the dealer to replace the case.  The service department should follow the TSB and make sure they get the part in correctly.  Its a 2 piece seal (and inner and outer half) that just mate together.  Some have gotten only one half of the seal in the bag which is incorrect, it needs to be 2 pieces.
