Grinding Door hinges.. How do I fix?

Well, it seems that these door hinges are another common Tahoe problem.. After looking at at least a dozen over the last few months all of them had it.. Some worse than others.

 

You can actually see the worn metal on the shaft that goes into the door itself.. What type of grease do you all use to make this smooth again? Luckily mine has not started to creak loud when opening the door...

I've always used white lithium grease.

Chuck Do you mean the hinges themselves, or the door check, the piece that goes into the door to hold it open? Original equiptment had the checks made of metal, which rusted,then squeaked no matter what you did. New version has a plastic coating, which works fine. My 01 had them changed out under waranty. Hope this is the problem.
