I own a 2011 Silverado 1500 LT FWD. Constant displaying the "SERVICE BRAKES SOON" message. I have not gotten any warning lights or error/DTC codes. Will lose the brakes at random times. I have an OBD reader and pick up no codes for this issue.

Cheap code readers won't read body, chassis, or other codes besides "P" (powertrain) codes. You'll need to upgrade the scan tool for that.

When you say you "lose brakes", do you mean the pedal is sinking to the floor? Or, is it just going stiff and difficult to apply the brakes?

The 1st symptom is a bad master cylinder if brake pressure comes and goes randomly. The 2nd is a bad vacuum booster for the master.
