I just bought a ‘20 1500 and my friend has a ‘23 2500. He took his factory running boards off and replaced them with the xxl amp research ones. Will these fit mine? The amp research part number is the same for both. Is mine prewired? Can I add a harness?

I work for the company that makes the GM Articulating Running Boards.  Unfortunately, I design the mechanical portion, not the electrical.  They will fit and if you have an LTZ or a High Country the ARB module is already there, but you do have to go to the dealer for the wiring pig tail and worse the programming to tell your ECM that they are there.  They will probably charge a $150.00 hook up at the dealer.  Sorry that I cannot get you a pigtail but you may find one from a crashed truck, they are the same for all T1XX trucks (2019 to current).  Ebay is my best friend.  K2 and T2 are completely different.  Hope I helped.

@fatwhiteboy or anybody that knows -I realize this is an old thread but maybe you can answer the question I have. I'm interested in replacing the factory power steps on my 22 Sierra 1500 and wondered if the factory steps that come on the higher trim 2500/3500 trucks will fit the 1500. They are similar to (if not the same as) the Amp steps. They retract down instead of just out.

Thanks

Jim

@fatwhiteboy I do not know if the mounts are the same for the 1500 and 2500, I think they made a change in 2022 to the action as well.  I like the AMP dual motor steps. Here in Michigan the salt and snow causes failures.  Sorry I cannot answer that question.  Paul

Thanks for the quick reply. I had the dual motor AMPs on my 2018 Silverado and I loved them. I just read on another thread that GM is chaging the power steps for the '24 model 1500 so maybe they are more like the AMP version.
