Need estimated time to R&R Fuel System at dealer

OK I am Idiot!!!  Got DEF in fuel, don't ask.  Got truck to dealer anyone know how long it will take to repair?

Thanks and be easy on me I feel bad enough as it is!!!!!

Ouch.

 

If the engine was started and ran or even if the key was turned on, the entire system needs to be replaced per GM.  Tank, in tank pump, lines, injectors, high pressure pump and lines, cooler, etc.  They don't want anything flushed as one DEF runs through it, its considered contaminated and it will corrode.    

 

Its about $9,000 just in parts.  Figure 20-30hrs labor.

In our R&D chemlab at a major OEM we would not allow the DEF mixing in or near our lab because of the caustic nature of the 32.5% urea and the rest deionized water. It was terrible and got all over everything as corrosive.  It does corrosively eat out the fuel side delivery system sadly.
