I know this is a common problem but I can't seem to find any threads on this issue. The gas door on my 2020 1500 Silverado will not stay closed while driving down the road. My buddy had this happen on his WT but the company just took it to the dealer for a whole new door assembly. Is there any way to fix this issue without having to buy a whole new door?

Stick on magnets?

Maybe, I currently have duct tape layered on the bedside to make the door fit tight, but that's not a solution I want for 100k+ more miles. I think it is the spring in the door, on my 2015 the spring is replaceable but I have not seen that on the 2020. I will say I'm disappointed in GM's increased use of plastic, the gas door and hood latch handle are both plastic whereas on my 2015 both are metal. My loaded SLT was 45k MSRP, and the 2020 2LT was 58k MSRP...

It's not metal.

That's why they're stick on magnets.  One side is glued to the plastic part.  The other side attaches to another magnet via magnetism.  That's why they said plural magnets instead of singular magnet.  At least, that's how I interpreted what they said.  I could be completely wrong, though.
