No More Ex-Cab S10s?

Anyone else notice this? For 04-05 it doesn't seem to be an option. The only way I see to have it ordered is by Crew Cab :shakehead:

About time they get rid of the old S-10 Pickup, that design really made me sick, and it just didn't seem to be able to compare well with the Ranger and the newer Dakota. Sadly though I am very disgusted with the styling of the new trucks that will be replaceing the S-10. Just my opinion though. :shakehead::nono::D

At least the prev S chassis was only around for 10 years or so, the first one was around for 12 years!

That EC S10 was useless anyway, I'd get a crew cab :shakehead:

Yea it was. I sat in my friends once on that little sideways jump seat. One ear touched the front seat head rest, and the other touched the rear window.

You guys are JUST catching up on this? 2003 was the last year for the S-10 unless you look at the crew cab style. Thought it was well-known since the Shreveport plant where many were made was converted to build the Colorado/Canyon.

Also, the frames didn't change all THAT much from the first-gen to the second-gen. If you get the chance to, take a look at a Blazer or Jimmy from each style, and an S-10 from each style, not much different comparing pickup to pickup or SUV to SUV across body styles. The same general frame was around for the whole S-10 run, from 82 till 03...

I ALWAYS seem to forget SOMETHING. I have a 2000 S-10 ZR2, for my purposes it's the PERFECT size truck, and it's my second s-series, the first was a first-gen Jimmy.

Hmm..guess I'm a little behind. I always thought those ZR2s and Highriders were kinda cool looking. Don't see to many of the latter. I see a guy around campus that has a silver one, but its pretty beat up. Those 4.3L??

The ZR2? Yeah it's a 4.3, seems like more of a dog than in my old truck, probably due to the 31x10.5 tires compared to 235/75/15's on the old one. I do love the truck though, just wish I could keep it clean, this Indigo Blue looks REAL nice when it's clean.

Even as a pickup this truck seems to handle the snow as well as, if not better than, the old Jimmy I had. The Jimmy had BFG All-Terrain T/A KOs on it, the S-10 has Futura Dakota RVT tires on it. They're Pep Boys tires but they seem to handle snow (4-5" anyway) REALLY nice.

Planning on putting a review of them in the review section...

The 4.3 in the wife's '94 S-10 Blazer has adequate power

unless you put weight in it. Just adding one passenger

makes a very noticeable difference in power.

My old 94 had plenty of power, but the newer ones are downrated a bit from the older ones. My 2000 is rated at 190 HP, not the 195 or 200 the 94s were rated at.

Looked at S-10 x cabs when looking for the 92 Jimmy I got used in 97. Too small for me really, and hindsight being 20-20 I wouldn't have bought the 92 Jimmy...should've gone full-size back then. That 92 was a nice utility though, just a bit small being 6'5 and 230.

Yea, about as useful as teets on a bull.
