a recently purchased 1999 silverado with the 4.8 engine was acting like loose connections somewhere while driving.  The brake light would come on, then go off, other lights on the display did the same.  Truck still ran tho.

no codes on the OBD.  Put in a new wiring connector and ignition switch.  Now nothing!  In the On position, no lights on the dash, turn to start position and the check engine light comes up but nothing else.  Checked and verified all fuses are good, looking for a good, simple wiring diagram for the starting circuit.  Or for some knowlegible suggestions.

Check the under hood fuse box for corrosion. The starter relay is in there, try jumping it and see if it cranks over, if it does you may have a problem with the neutral switch on the trans, another common problem. Bad grounds are also common

Thanks for the reply.  I can check the starter by jumping the relay, but another head-scratcher is why do i not get any lights on the dash when in the run position.  And, as I said chek3ed all the fuses.

That all started with the new ignition switch? Probably a bad switch. Try putting the old 1 back in. The resetting of the warning lights sounds like the power to 1 of the ECM feeds is getting interrupted, probably from a bad connection or ground
