2024 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with 6.2

Not sure if it is my vehicle in particular or just the way these models were designed, but when in sport mode or tow/haul the drive mode setting will recall after each trip. However, when running in off road mode it always resets back to normal drive mode the next time I crank it up.

Has anyone experienced the same? I just find it odd that every drive mode except off road will recall each time.

Tow/haul should stay active for to four hours of engine off time.

After four hours it will be 'off' when engine started.

On older generations tow/haul would shut off whenever the engine was shut off.

I believe TCS and ESC will be turned on when engine is restarted.

I guess the other modes will be off when the engine restarts -- but don't have specific info and haven't tested to find out.

That would explain why tow/haul recalls sometimes and sometimes not. Thanks for the info!

I do know that sport mode recalls every time no matter what.

The Off road mode reverts back to normal drive mode every time, regardless of engine time on/off. I like running in offroad mode due to the tighter steering and lower geared/downshifting feel in the tranny, as well as the open exhaust flaps like the sport mode activates. I think I actually get a little better fuel mileage while running in it. Just inconvenient to have to change it every time I get in the vehicle to drive, since the other 2 drive modes will recall their settings.
