Hey all, for some time been looking at 3500hd crewcab diesel, maybe dually.  Just trying to find the right deal with trade.

 

I would like to go 2020+ with all the improvements.  But, with the Transmission issues I'm hearing about in the 2020+, just wondering if I would be better off with a 2018 or 2019.

 

What's your thoughts?

The old Allison 1000 was a great transmission.  I really wish GM just had Allison make their own 8 or 10 speed to put in these 2020+up L5Ps instead of the 10L1000 GM came up with and had Allison "test and validate" to put their branding on.  

 

Engine wise, not too different until you get to 2024+up.  The power upgrade, turbo changes, etc.

Thank You newdude, agree the old Allison 1000 was Great and Reliable.  Lots of friends that have it really like it. 

Seen quite a few complaing on YouTube about the new 10 speed, but hoping gm figured out the problems.  Really like some of the improvements on 2020+, time will tell if the 10 speed as good as 6 speed.
