Trying to find out what's going on with the heat

I've got a hot hose is going to the coil coils open and also I have a gurgling sound coming from the heater core I believe

First is the temp gauge reading normal? Second, are both heater hoses about the same temp, almost too hot to hold for any length of time? If 1 is cold the heater core is clogged and will need a reverse flush. If all that checks out then the temp control actuator is probably stuck, (clicking noise), not too hard a job, remove the glove box to access. Welcome to the Forum! Gurgling noise would be air in the heater, is the system full of coolant? If it's full it may take a spirited jaunt around the block to purge the air provided the cores not clogged. DO you have the proper amount of antifreeze to keep the core from turning into an ice cube?
