To those that have one, do they help keep bugs off the windshield like the ones in the old days did? If so, which one did you get?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure the old ones kept many bugs off the windshield either! I have the AVS Aeroskin. I got it to protect the paint on the hood since I live in Michigan with lots of crud and salt getting thrown up in winter. Being the hood is aluminum, the salt will corrode it and get under the paint and make it flake off if not kept touched up.

I could have sworn that it helped on my 97 Suburban, but maybe it's been so long I don't remember correctly.

What mod or fix are you thinking about?

Not sure what you're asking here. We're talking about hood air/bug deflectors.

No lip. That lip is strictly to mount the light. From everyone I've heard that's had it, it causes the hood to vibrate at higher speeds.

I'm more interested in getting one cause the paint on my 2024 seems to be super thin.  Already have several spots on the front end paint around bumper/headlights - 4 months and 9K.  Thinking it will keep my hood in better shape.

Really dissapointed in the paint quality on this truck, both body color and the bumper paint (Pro trim level).  The plastics are also subpar, have either acid rain spotting or spotting from carwash on the cowl pieces.

I've read that, too, since posting that one. And that one actually has an air pocket where the lights go and a straight up angle, so it's not surprising that it buffets terribly. The one I had on the Suburban had a simple, more aerodynamic lip, so I didn't get buffering from it, just enough upward angle to facilitate lifting the airstream a bit which resulted in bugs hitting the higher part of the windshield above the sightline, which was perfect. Right now, as you know, they hit smack dab in the middle of the windshield.
