I’m not sure how or where to post on this website, but I want to ask about a dent I got today. I backed into my trailer and got a dent that made a little circle and chilled a little paint off. I called a couple shops and they all said they couldn’t do anything about it. There has to be something I could do right? I mean can I easily take the bumper off and just hit it with a hammer? I’m not sure how the inside of the bumper works but I’m hoping it is fixable.. let me know what you guys think https://ibb.co/k6Jq804w

You might try finding a Paintless Dent Repair guy or shop. Mine can do some really nice stuff, fixing not only the dent but repairing the paint. Worth a try

I’ve called a bunch around my area and they all say I need to go to a body shop to do some serious job or buy a new bumper..

Hummm.....I wonder if it's due to thickness of the steel bumper. Much thicker that body skin.

If you might consider a chrome one, you could do like what I did when I dinged mine pretty good. There was an outfit in Indiana that would take new trucks in and convert them over to work trucks. They remove the beds and bumpers, swapping out to a work truck bed. They then will sell the take off parts at a fairly reasonable cost. Most of the time though they convert white trucks with chrome bumpers. But you never know and maybe one of the conversions might have had a painted bumper from the factory.

Just to add, the bumper I bought was from a 2500 and I have a 1500. It was the exact same bumper, just different mounting brackets. I just had to swap the mounts from my dinged one over to the "new" one. Maybe that info will be of some help?
