Radio is doing strange things

Hey friends, my 2018 Silverado radio has started acting strange. A couple weeks ago, I had the radio continuing to raise the volume to full blast. Whatever I tried, turning the volume knob down or the steering wheel control down, as soon as I let off the volume would start climbing again. I ended up stopping, turning off the truck, opening the door and restarting and it was fine.

Today as I switched from media to radio, the screen kept changing to a list of XM stations. I went back to media and then the scree would change to a list of songs on the flash drive.

I am at a loss of where to start. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Found some You Tube video's showing that I may need to replace my digititizer on the radio screen.

At least I'm not the only one with this issue

You can give it a good cleaning to get rid of the dirt and oil build up from your fingers, which lead to the ghost funtions, temporary fix, but you will need to replace the screen eventually. Just another known problem with this generation truck and SUV.

I did a lot of internet searching and you are correct, a known issue. I am going to try and replace the digititizer on the screen since I am not upgrading any time soon.

I have a couple of screen protectors left over for the 8" screen. I plan on searching the net on any pro's or con's on that subject, since I have a week before I get my replacement.
