Hi All,

Vehicle: 2016 Silverado 1500, 283k miles.

I developed a gas leak - it's coming from the top of the tank, appearing to drip from a quick connection while the truck is running.  I've attached a photo taken from under the car, bottom of photo is top of gas tank, and am linking a video that shows the drip.

Can someone help identify?  I'm assuming fuel pump on one side, fuel line (high pressure?) on the other.  Any input or troubleshooting steps you could recommend to identify which side is the problem?  Would hate to put on a new fuel pump and find I really needed to replace the line, or vice versa.  Or, think it's something that would go away if I re-seated the connection?

Thanks all, appreciate the advice.

You won't know short of closely examining it perhaps w the bed tilted.

But your pic shows the steel tube coming out of the fuel pump assemy, and going into a plastic fitting/line.  The steel tube looks awfully rusted, so IMHO, it's probably the fuel pump assembly you'll want to replace.  It's possible you will damage the plastic fitting and/or whatever o-ring/seal is inside it when you take it apart.  I would use compressed air to get as much debris out of the fitting before trying to disconnect it.

There are sites where one can search for part numbers and locations.
Maybe start here?
