Hate to break it to you, but modern vehicles just REACHING 200k miles without major drivetrain issues are relics of the early 21st and most of the 20th century. Days long since gone, unfortunately for consumers.

I assume you're talking about the "baby Duramax". The one with a rubber band that drives the oil pump ... BEHIND the transmission. Just think about the labor on that one if your paying someone to fix it! On what planet did this sound like a good idea to GM engineers? Mind-blowing ...

I can't help you with the motor mounts. You'd have to find a GM engineer that has quit out of frustration. I know there are many that have started their own businesses! One of them was on YouTube describing exactly why GM is the way it is today.

My suggestion is to get out from under it while you still can. Take the loss, and switch brands.

An even better course of action is to find something restored from the 20th century. That will reach 200k PLUS, guaranteed.

I bought a 24 3.0 new and in the first year it was at the dealer for 4-5 weeks for continued emissions issues. Last year the engine wiring harness went at 11K miles and would have been an expensive repair if not under warranty.

I absolutely love this truck. The way it drives, the power, the fuel economy, the way it looks, the interior, etc. But my confidence after my issues and being a member of all online communities has been lost and I'm selling the truck I bought for a 19K loss back to the dealer after 29 months and 14,300 miles and buying a new cummins 2500. Everything about the interior and exterior of that truck is a step down, but I'm hoping the combination of a cummins engine and the new ZF 8 Speed will be more reliable long term.

I bought a Cummins myself. A 32-year-old 5-speed 4x4 1st gen in '23.

Wish I had the sense back in '07 to buy that instead of the Silverado I spent 16 painful years with. Waiting 16 years cost me a MOUNTAIN of cash! Paid 2/3rds more than I would have back then. Even at this stage of my life, I'm still learnin' ...

Since I'm the one who has to maintain them, and work on them when something goes south, I've sworn off anything built after 1994. I'll gladly trade comfort, power, and mileage for a little sanity. WELL worth it!!

Well the 940 will last forever. I used to own a 97.5 S90, which was the same chassis. I know the 26 cummins will inevitably disappoint in terms of reliability, but my hope is that that it will be more repairable rather than a throwaway like it appears many of the major issues with the LZ0 become.
