I'm of the opinion that the throttle body on my 2010 Silverado needs cleaned, but I'm rather shaky concerning removing it from the motor (5.3) and a possibility a problem in reinstalling it, such as programming problems. Can you clean the TB and not disconnect it from the wiring plug? Would  that eliminate a possible problem with programming?

No programming is needed. I've removed the throttle body tons of times on these trucks. I clean it and re-install without any problems.

I just don't open and close the throttle blade a whole bunch of times. Spray it with cleaner and use a soft brush or rag to clean the surface, brake clean it off and back on the truck it goes.
