If the green keys and ford keys allow more lift and if a person cranks these different keys past 2" or so, is it possible to crank too much and not being able to get it aligned correctly?

I would say yes. When i rebuilt the frontend of my 89 S10 and installed a 2 in superlift I cranked the piss out of the bars when I put it back together. Took it to get it aligned and the shop said something had to be wrong with the kit. Came home and cranked the bars down several turns and took it back. No problem then.
