Standard Cab Sub Question

Recommended Posts

I am a sucker for good bass. I was wondering what you guy do to get some more bass in your standard cab. I have been looking for a way to mount a 10" between the driver and passengers seats.... What other options are there?

Anything????

Ive got one 10 behind my passenger seat ( i wanna keep the other side open for storage) and it hits hard. The box that i bought for the back of my jeep, fits perfect behind it. I can take some pictures if you want?

by the way, its in a 04 standard cab

If you would take a pic that would be great. I definetly cant put anything behind the drivers seat that would take up any space. I am 6'2" and have the seat all the way back now. What speaker amp combo are you running. Did you change the head unit?

Thanks,Drew

I would be interested in a pic myself. I am in the same position with an 04 regular cab and 6'2", moving the drivers seat up any is not an option. I feel it already sits further forward than my 98 did. Thanks.

No, i didnt replace the deck. Im running everything off the factory deck (the wonder of the RCA line convertors. I actually have the passenger seat all the way back, and the headrest is about 1/2" from the window. Myself, i am 6' and i dont think i would have a problem if it was behind me. I did have to remove the cover over the back section that covers the jack and what not, but honestly, i dont really miss it. It allows a little more room in the back. The sub is a 10" MTX competition sub (i can get the model number if i can still find the box) and the amp is a 600watt 2channel MTX (again, i can find the product number later) The box was purchased at bestbuy, and is a very high quality box. If I can find the cable for the camera, i will get some tonight.. I need to get a few pics of the truck anyways for all the little things ive done so far (added factory fog lights, painted mirror cabs, billet grill, and the sub and amp i have running off the factory deck)

That would be great if you could get some pics. Some dimensions for that box would be great also. Did you get everything at a Best Buy or something? Sounds like this might be the avenue that I go. Does the sound come from one side since the sub is located where it is???? Does it sound very off center.

The sounds for me does sound a little off center(at least for the sub), but i definatly dont complain. I did purchase everything at bestbuy a while back, but i would probably go another avenue. You can probably find it cheaper elsewhere. When i get a chance I will get you some dimenson's

Do you think that you could get that box behind the center console? I know that it is tight but the way it sounds you might be able to do that???? That would be sweet to let the sub set in open air.

yes, i could get the box in behind the centerconsole, but it looks like crap. I have my amp mounted right there next to it, actually using the stud for the wing nut holding down the plastic peice(which is sitting in the garage) as the ground for the amp (no need to drill another hold) With everything mounted, its impossible to see it from the outside, and is still pretty hidden even sitting in the truck
