Wheels for a 2002 Silverado

Greetings Gents;

I'm trying to determine what wheel and tire combo would look good on my 2002 Silverado. The Stock 16" wheels just don't seem to "fill the gap" one could say. I went to a Les Schw., to look and they were trying to talk me into a 22" or 24" wheel... "On a 4 wheel drive" I asked ? Their tires are pretty limited to their Wild C's and a couple off brands.

I think the max I should go on a wheel would be 18" and... I still want Outlined White Letter Tires... I prefer some tread for when I actually do go hunting but I do drive mostly highway so I suppose I'll stick with a 4 ply, all terrain type tire and like the looks of a more aggressive tread.

So tell me... Any body have any ideas and or pics they'd like to share?

I just purchased a set of 18" American Racing Vanguards and put 285/50/18 Nitto 404 Extreme tires on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2wd ad it looks good. But you have a 4wd right? The best thing to do is look at what others are running and find something you like.

Ive got American Racing Chrome Jammers on my truck. I dont have any pics with my new Dueler AT Revos but if you click the pics link in my sig. you can see them.

I like them, course thats MY opinion, yours may be different

Just my thoughts

Just wondering guys, can the 17" Sierra Denali rims fit on a 03-04 2wd Sierra extended cabs? I'm going to buy an 04 Sierra soon and I want to upgrade the 16" to a 17" Denali rims or the z71 rims. Thanks in advance!

Hey those Jammers do indeed look pretty good... and those are the same Firestone tires I currently have on my truck as well. They do indeed ride nice and I will miss the ride quality of those but I want a tad bit more aggressive Tread look. I do like those Bridgestone Dueler A/T's. What are the diff's between those and the Revos?

Just a thought,but if you ever plan on leavin the pavement,you may want to stay away from the 22"s & 24"s...all it takes is ONE 6"rock and you'l be walking :sigh:

No Doubt! I couldn't agree more. That's why I was a tad bit amazed when a senior salesman at Les Schw., was telling me to go for some 22" or 24" wheel's on my 4x4... I thought he had put one too-many-rim on or his comission would be higher.... actually, I think he simple doesn't know the difference in the intention of a 4x4... even if it's for a limited amount of time off road. The more I look... I think 17" is the max I would want to go.

I have Boss 306 20's on my 03 Z71 and they ride great and work hard off-road, no problems. I'm running 295/55/20 Nitto's, which are one of the best tires I have ever used. I've seen 22's on contractors Z's for over a year now, and they look like they work them very hard and they still look good. If I had to do it over, I would run 22's though. Just my two cents. :loser:
