computer for 98 1500 5.7

Have a 1998 gmc sierra ext. cab 1500 with 350 motor. have 3:42 gears. Bought a 5th wheel last fall, ( 26' 5500lb). Have put a extra leaf spring for suspension and a dual flow master exhaust. I now am thinking about buying a computer for it from westers garage in Alberta. Does anyone have the same truck and have bought one of these computers, or is anyone using one of these computers? Is the $400 going to make a great difference? By the way a new truck is not a option right now.

There are a couple people with the older Vortec 5.7's with Wester's PCM upgrade. Mine should be coming in later this week. So I can't say anything about it just yet. Chris

Your in luck man cause I have a 97 with a vortec350.I had it dynoed before and after and with the Westers PCM 93octane tune my truck gained 25rwhq and 36rwtq.You will notice a big difference with a Westers custom tune.However if I was you I would definatley get the 93octane hot tune.After I installed my Westers PCM it lowered my 1/4mile times over 6 thenths.It is d**n impressive how much power you can get with Westers.Do it you wont be sorry.Tell Lyndon that Charlie said to call him and he will know who you are talkin about.

You will not be sorry you did it.Just spend a little extra money at the pump for supreme and get the 93 Octane hot tune.Trust me.

Out of curiosity, did you see a mpg increase? I didn't get the 93 Hot Tune, I got the 89. Right now, financially, it just cost too much going from 87 to 93 octane. I have to fill up about every 4 days. Thanks, Chris

not really,but the hot tune is not for fuel economy,I wanted all the power I could get and I was willin to even lose MPG for the power and I definately got the power increase.

Thanks, for THIS truck I'd rather have more mpg and a little bit of performance increase. The performance I want will have to come out of a new Z06 Vette when they come out in '06. Chris
