New Tire/Wheel Combo for Yukon...

Recommended Posts

Few questions...I changed tires and wheels on my 2001 GMC Yukon.

The original was a 16 x 7.5 wheel and a 265-70-16 Michelin LTX M/S.

The new setup is a 20 x 10 wheel with a 275-55-20 Michelin LTX M/S.

The tire pressure on the door calls for 35psi for both the front and the back tires (265-70-61).

What should my new tires be kept at (approx.) I tried 35psi but that seems way too low...handling is very loose. The max pressure for the tire is 44 psi...I am now at 40 and that seems okay...but would 44 be any better/worse?

Also...the original tire was excellent in rain...will I notice any difference with the new tire (size)?

Thanks!!!
