duramax tailpipe

I talked to a muffler guy who said to keep the cost down I can find a tailpipe off of a duramax truck and use it on my 6.0 in conjunction with a flowmaster. I'm just curious, what is the size of the diesel tailpipe? Anyone have one layin around in southern Cali that yould like to give away for 30 bucks?

You sure you want a 3.5" tailpipe running from the muffler? Isn't that a little too big for a 6.0? What effect will it have on backpressure?

The tailpipe off of an 8.1 truck would be the same diameter as the Duramax, in fact I've heard that with the resonance troubles they have with the 6.0, the 8.1 muffler and tailpipe makes a free-er flowing (yet quite) alternative. I'd be willing to sell mine fairly cheap, but I think shipping to CA (from TN) would make it expensive

Well thanks for the offer but your right. It would be expensive. I went ahead and got the flowmaster with a 3.5 inch tailpipe. There is absolutely no resonance. But maybe Im used to my old el camino. That thing resonates like crazy. It sounds good. Could actually stand to be a little louder for me but I still like it. It turns heds when I fly by now. Now if I could just get it to look nice when they turn there heads I'd be set. Im coming up on some money soon so everybody will see some progress soon on my truck- I promise. I know I've been stalled for a long time, but check out the site with my truck pics in about 2 or 3 months and youll start to see some cool stuff happening. (Paint, wheels, tires, more lift, lcd screens, etc)
