GOT% MY CAMERA

chevy4x4trucks will be pleased to know that I picked up an Olympus C-60 Camera today. they came out just around a month ago.

6.1 MP

very small, about 1.5" thick, 3.5-4 inches wode, and 2 inches tall

a load of manual options, including 1/1000 shutter speed(great for the USGP race I'm going to)

I got a free 64MB xD card with the purchase. right now it's charging, but pic's will be up today!!!!!

I'm hoping to get a group shot of my 325is, my dad's 325iC, and my brother/sister-in-law's E36 325i, and take my card to Kinkos and have them take advantage of the 6.1MP and make a big poster.

Congrats on the camera. I got the C740 Ultimate Zoom this March and love it. Real easy to use and the pic quality is out of this world. Not to mention the 30X zoom is pretty cool too. Now just have to post pics.

Bad idea man....At 6 MP....You will see every flaw.

Seriously though...have you called Kinkos and asked what they charge for that? It's like $10 per sq foot of poster. so a 24" x 36" poster is $60!

nope, Wing, your wrong!

I haven't taken a 6.1MP TIFF yest, but in SHQ(Super High Quality, 2811xwhatever), the pictures were true to life of what you saw. I was wanting that quality for the USGP race.

The downside is that Camedia Master really bites at resizing pics, but if you use IrfanView to resize to a smaller size, they have that un-realistic "perfectly flawless" look.

Plus let's face it, this is taking TRUE pics, you see EVERYTHING!!!!!

I actually haven't taken 1024x768 yet, but I had to resize the pic to 1024 to realistically post them on the net, and it'll show you the "perfect" I mentioned above. It looks professional to me!!!!

I'll also post one of the I huge pic on the SHQ setting, and then one on 28--x----TIFF. In all, that's around 15MB or so of photo's so I'll try to get them on tonight(dial-up).

Oh, and the QT videos have AWESOME quality. I wasn't expecting much video out of a DC, but I have a video of a Porsche 996 911(passed it on highway). I'll see if I can post it too.

Oh yeah, question on Memory....

Best Buy has a 256MB xD card on sale for $94, before 15 rebate.

How fast do DC Memory prices drop? I need this by June 10th. Do I need to get this deal now, or will memory prices drop by then?

yeah, I like it, it's got more features than I can understand right now. But, I've played around with the shutter speed and taken pics of stationary object while in a car on the highway, and that helped learn how well that works. LOL
