The SPEEDY Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 I have somewhere around 13 warts on my hands. I used some Dr. Sholes (sp?) wart remover on them once and they went away but came back in about 2 months. So how do I get rid of these thing so that they don't come back. I got some of the Compound W freeze off stuff and now everybody tells me that that is not going to work, after I threw down $25 for it. So whats the secret? I used to cut them out, but I would bleed like a stuck pig and they just kept coming back. I was told to start eating almonds everyday because they kill the bacteria.
tmf6902 Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Dood....get some compound W from the drug store....don't cut em off...making them bleed will just spread them. Don't get the compund W freeze stuff...get the old fashion liquid stuff...you put it on the wart....let it dry and cover it up with a band-aid.....it'll burn those bad boys off.
R Dogg 56 Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 get some compound W from the drug store I had a few plantars' (sp?) warts on my left hand a few years ago, and when they dried up from the Compound W gel and started to crack open, I went in there with a tweezers, a rubber band to hold the tweezers closed on the core, and a scalpel from my HS biology kit and cut the core out. Minimal blood loss (think paper cut being squeezed) and they've been gone ever since.
The SPEEDY Posted May 29, 2004 Author Posted May 29, 2004 Well crap, I wasted $25 for nothing. Yeah I noticed that more started coming up after I started cutting them out.

5.3LSilverado01 Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Go to the skin doctor (dermatologist i think its spelled) and he will either freeze them off with nirogen (some what painful but you can walk it off) or he will use a laser (painless i have heard). Either way, 13 warts aint really a fight you can win with weapons from eckards. I had 1 on my hand once and Id just cut (deep!!) it off after a shower, but it came coming back, 1 day it never came back.... But 13, dont fight it yourself!!! Respectivly!!

On a scale of 1 (being near-painless) to 10 (kill me now), this was a 3. And I have a somewhat low threshold for pain the way it is.

I had one frozen off before. Didn't hurt and it was gone in a few days, but I just don't want to go to the doctor. I have to check to see if my insurance covers it and I think I don't like doctors or something. It's weird cause they used to not bother me. BTW: I recounted in some good light and found 15.

HillHound Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 I know all about those warnings. It's about as dangerous as a can of pressurized butane. I mentioned it because I know the guy who asked for help was capable of reading the instructions and using it safely.
tmf6902 Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 I like the grill idea.....make sure you take pics Not to be gross....you better be careful when you take a leak....I read in maxim this month that if you got one of those bad boys open, you can spread them to places you really don't want them..LOL....try explaining that to your better half...LMAO

Thankfully they are not on my index finger and the one on my thumb is pretty far back, but I'm being carefull anyway. Would that still be genital warts?
1 Bad Burb Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 all that stuff would work well, but get this, i had 27 of them on my feet... and i used to cut a few to try and get rid of them, but that made it worse. and i had two on my fingers..i came across this stuff called Salisiclyic Acid. its a liquid u put on ur affected areas, leave it to dry, cover with band aid. reaply next day or do it 2x a day. after about 2 weeks, its all gone. literally, back to normal skin! now i did this only on one finger/one wart... a few weeks later, all my others ones were gone!!! i didn't even realize it. but suffered with that crap for 4 yrs!!! that was about 3 yrs ago now...and im stil clean...soo take it from me, that acid stuff works! just my .02... P.S yes...this does bring back ugly memories... Aj
