Anything special about the G80 and ATC?

Like more maintenance, fluid changes etc.

I have a TB witha G80 rear and the local service department wants 280 bucks to change the fluid at 7500 miles. The owners manual says nothing about the rear end.

As for the Automatic transfer case, They also want 280 to change this stuff.

They say it is a new synth fluid (blue)

Any opinions or comments, thanks

Time to look for another "garage". The rear end holds about 6 dollars worth of gear oil and about 10 dollars of additive. It would not be bad to change break in lube it it once anyway. On Tcase I would not even bother at 7500 miles unless you really abuse it. All though I have never bought the lube it uses I would suspect that if you shopped around you could buy what you need for 35 bucks or a lot less. Are you getting the picture on your "garages" profit margin yet?

The G 80 prior to the Trailblazer & the GMT800 had different clutch plates but GM & Eaton changed this on new trucks. If its required it will be in the maintance section of you OWNERS MANUAL. Always check it out if in doubt. :seeya:
