Bearings?

The Bearings on the X-Terra apparently got some dirt in them (Grinding sound while turning, that's what mom thinks it is- the bearings). And she got the crazy idea that it's my fault (Which I'm failing to see how it is). And she's charging me the $$$$ to fix it. So does anybody know how much it costs to replace them?

Tanks in advance...

I guess I'll never be able to get my own vehicle.

Why is she so sure it's the bearings??? It's a 2wd isn't it? Bearings should be cheaper for a 2wd.

You probably have about 100K on it by now... so I would say it's just normal wear and tear!!!

Close, 70-80k in miles.

I borrowed it this morning, and took it down a dirt road (I didn't do anything stupid mind you, like donuts or fishtails). She noticed that I had gotten it a little dirty.

So she Went somewhere, and 15 mins. later I get a call on my cell (I was on here at the time) and she talked to me in this real pissed off manner "You are never driving this again! You're going to give me this month's payment AND you're going to fix whatever's wrong with it!"

I don't have a problem with fixing whatever's broken (if it is something that is broken). But I think paying $400 for only driving 10 miles a month (As opposed to her 1500+ miles a month) is a little ridiculous.

I don't like admitting this, but over the past year we've had problems.... After camp is over I'm contemplating going on my own.

Whatever it needs, avoid Nissan dealers. Nissan dealer parts departments do everything short of straight up pick pocket you.

It sounds like your mom's driving is more likely the cause of the problem. 1500 miles a month is a fair amount of driving...but arguing with her might go nowhere.

they are cheap, just the repair can get lenghty. In fact, you might not even need to repalce them, you might just have to remove, clean, and repack them, which costs $5 of grease
