Geez, first the super duty's. SFA and such now this?

pickup truck.com

FACTORY lockers, 4.56 gears and a winch. Factory with 33's true AT tires.

I hate the fact GM doesn't even care to build anything like it. Nahhh lets just stick to our low step in Z71 and just call it off road...

DAMNIT! GM WAKE THE FUNK UP! :seeya:

Looks pretty cool however why do they call it the power wagon? Doesnt really look like the old power wagon or the concept one that was at the autoshows. Why dont they just call it the 2500 Ram???

One work says it all MEAN!

I believe the power wagon comes from the tough off road package.

Winch, low gears that kind of thing. Not sure though, I am not old enough to know why...lol!

4.56 gears, 33" tires and the amazing gas-sucking 5.7 Hemi...that thing is going to get some spectacularly sh*tty mileage, ain't it. Combined with the fact that it requires 89 octane gas I can't imagine them selling them in large numbers. I'd imagine they'll cost in the $40K range to boot.

The two guys I know with Ram 5.7L 2500s get worse mileage than my 6.8L V10 and have complained more than once about how gutless the Hemi is with any sort of trailer hooked up. Can't imagine why Dodge thinks 4.56s are needed-I'd think a set of 4.10s or 4.30s would be fine. I guess maybe the 4.56 gears are necessary to milk enough power from the engine to turn the 33"s and still have enough left to crawl the ugly pig up steep grades at low speed. :seeya:

BTW-the Power Wagon name is just another attempt by Dodge to cash in on an old brand name that was rugged and proven similar to the way they did with the "Hemi" name. This truck doesn't resemble the old Power Wagons any more than their 5.7L engine resembles the original Hemi engines from a few decades ago! Of course than won't matter-alot of guys just buy them to look cool or feel cocky! It's all about marketing.

Not sure about towing. My brothers 1500 Hemi seems to tow the 24' haulmark just fine?? Although he isn't getting the same mileage my rado is....

I agree 4.56 is to low for a everyday truck. I don't think they will keep those gears once the 6.1 hemi comes out, I wouldn't think anyone would touch a 3/4 truck with 4.56's and a cummins... Top speed would be like 45 mph lol!

Not sure about the power wagon name. But the Hemi marketing, I think people went out and bought a hemi because 345 horse is a lot better than Chevy's 285 and fords 300 horse motors... Hemi, Magnum, Vortec, tritan whatever you want to call it. When you are beating your copmetition by 50 + horses people will buy your product....

Same for the power wagon, make a pickup that is truely made for off road. Lockers, low gears and a winch. Call it Z71 off road if you want, I want it! Because of the name? No, because that is what I look for in off road package. NOT SHOCKS AND STICKERS!!!! :D:thumbs:

33" BFG'S stock, sounds great to me, I am sure they won't be able to keep up with me FIRESTONE A/T bad ass mud grippers...lol!

it's not what you buy... it's what you build :D

Exactly....If you want a rock crawler, or a mud bogger....There isn't much you can do with an "out of the box" truck.

You have to build it yourself.

what I dont get is the new durango commercial.

listen to it carefully they are comparing it to the trailblazer and the explorer saying its the biggest in that class. WHY because it cant hang with the tahoe or the expedition :D it has to go into a smaller class?

LOL! Every car magazine calls it a fullsize, but Dodge has to keep it in the small class.
