2000 Yukon Rear Audio Control

Recommended Posts

I have all the right parts to put in a rear audio control, but the question is, where do I plug the harness in at? has anyone done this yet? or have a copy of the service manual showing where it goes? any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

If your vehicle has the harness it will be under the center console. A couple screws at front of console a couple in "glove box" of console and possibly two on the sides of front, and the console lifts up.

But, I think that you will find that you don't have the harness there, that is a factory upgrade, not a standard part of the wire wire harness.

The back of your stereo would be a better place to start. There are 3 available receptacles, and yours will only have 2 plugged in to. The third is for the rear audio controls.

Hope this helps. (I'd look at the back of your stereo first though.)

That's not true. I have seen several 2002 and 2001 Tahoes with the rear audio controls that only have 2 plugs on the stereo. The control harness plugs into the same one the tape player does. It has a t- that the tape player plugs into.
