I am looking to replace the shocks on my '03 Sierra 1500 2WD. It has the trailering/handling package with the 255/70 tires an heavy duty shocks(Z85). Any recomendations?

It depends on ride quality you want. The stock shocks are a bit soft. I prefer a bit stiffer ride/better handling. I had Bilstiens on my '96 2wd ECSB. Definitely firmed things up over the stock shocks. I've heard pretty good things about Ranchos and Edlebrock shocks. These are a bit more expensive, but they are adjustable to suit the ride you want. The Bilstiens are not adjustable.

I had Rancho RS5000 shocks on my old 98 S10 2wd and they were great!! They were about $40 per shock from o'rielies. I never got around to buying them for my Silverado but i wanted too, at 50,000 miles the front shocks (Z85 also) were getting wussy.
