I have put it off as long as my butt can stand. Need suggestions as to what kind to get. I have a 2001 2500HD CC SB. Any suggestions? rancho, tough country, eldelbrock, koni, etc....

I went with the Edelbrocks on my 01' 2500HD. The factory shocks are really not great at all, even when new. The Edelbrocks have worked out great on my truck. It rides so much better than the stockers ever did. Bilsteins and Rancho are both good choices as well. You really can't go wrong with any of these brands IMO. Here are a couple of pics of the Edelbrocks on my truck:

This pic shows the Edelbrock part numbers. These should be the part number you need for your truck if you go with the Edelbrocks since you have an 01' HD similar to mine:

You can check out the links in my sig below for more pics if intereted. Take care.. :banghead:

Is your's lifted (T-Bars cranked or different keys)? I'd like to replace my stockers too but am still debating about changing the keys to level it out some.

I went with the Rancho RSX on the 03 Burban 2500 and am very happy with the results. They stiffened everything up nicely and got rid of the wallowing and bouncing (I live in western PA, every road is like a dirt road), but they still manage to suck up the bumps better than the stockers. Amazing. :banghead:

The t-bars are cranked pretty good. I am leaning towards the Edlebrock performer IAS.

Since your tbars are cranked...Make sure that you get longer shocks. One of the reasons your ride gets so stiff when you crank your bars is that you have eliminated all of your shocks potential downtravel.

Get some that are made for 0 to 3 inches of lift, and you will be golden.
