Door armrest/handle

I just bought my dream truck, A '92 Silverado 1500 4x4. It is missing the armrest on the drivers door. The one on the passanger door was holding on by one screw. On both doors the four plastic clips are broke and the screw bracket that goes behind the door handle is broken. My Uncle has a same model truck except longbed and deisle. His truck has the same problem. A friend of mine told me that someone they know had the same problem too. Would buying new armrests fix this, or do I have to rig something up to make them more sucure?

Welcome to the board . As for your armrest problem, maybe check out a few yards and see if you can replace the entire door panal. The hard part might be finding the color that matches.

Thanks! I was thinking of instolling power windows and door locks. Maybe I'll try to find a set of doors with armrests and the controls. Is there anything on these trucks that seem to mess up easyer or more often then they should?
