Ok i popped the light out this morning.

How do you get the drl light outta the housing.  Not much room in there.  DO you turn it one way?

Granted it was freezing out and my hands froze in about 10 seconds so i gave up

Looking down is it a circular grey piece you pop out?

To get the drl out of the housing you just give it a good yank.  At first I thought that the grey piece came out, so after I messed around I got it out.  But, found out you didn't.  So, I just unscrewed the housing from the light fixture, got it up to the hood level, held the bulb housing firmly and gave the bulb a good yank.  I really don't know how to describe it.  Lemme see if I've got a good pic of it.

bulb pics

Okay, look at this pic.  It shows the bulbs and part of the housing. The white housing sits inside the grey housing where the wiring harness connects.  Originally I thought that you had to get that piece out to remove the bulbs, but then found that they just require a strong pull.  Hope this helps.

The wire loom should come in on one side and on the opposite side there should be a loose plastic piece.  push it in and you should hear a click.  Then make sure it stays pushed in and turn the whole housing like you would for the headlights.  It takes a lil' for them to budge, but they will (make sure your spinning the correct way) if you can't get it yet, give me your address and I'll go out to indiana this weekend to help you.  So you better be able to get it.

It's kind of a PITA to do, but I held the clip down w/ my pinky while I slowly turned the housing.  i dunno, it's hard because you can only reach in there, you can't see what you're doing.  Make sure you leave it w/ a full tank of gas, I want to test out those 285's.

dude you dont even know how many cuss words i screamed.  My arms are scratched up and red

Get this didnt put the bulb all the way in put it back in the housing and it fell out.  Im thinking oh ^#^.  Well i opened the manual and read where you can pop the turn signal the bottom light portion out.  I did that and it MADE IT SO MUCH EASIER!!!!

SO for the pass side i popped the bottom lights loose popped the drl out and replaced maybe 1 min total.

Hopefully ill have pics of what i am talking about soon.  Made it so much easier

Thanks for all your help

I didnt think the lights would make that much of a difference.  However they are bright and they look very good alot better than the white ones

My dad even liked em

At first he was like which ones did you change (all the lights were on cause i was in the garage) then hes like they were off (put it in park) i had to explain them to him haha

That always makes a good way to work on vehicles.  You can't ever grip anything, it really hurts when you smash your hand, and you can't work for more then 5 minutes without having to stop.

I replaced the valve stem seals on my truck last winter, and it was the same type of deal.  Its something you really don't want to screw up, so it was slow going with frozen hands.
