steering stablizer

hello,i just bought a steering stabilizer for my chevy 1998 k1500.it did not have one from factory. i bought a monroe kit for 54 dollars.when i got it home ,it said on box,boot not supplied. i was mad as h.i called advance auto and said where is boot. they said you have to buy it seperate and its 17 dollars,ouch. why does monroe not supply the boot on the stablizer?do i need to order that boot or is it not necssary.years ago i saw boots on them when you bought the kit,thanks :thumbs:

Yeah I know what you mean. On my Fabtech lift and the Fabtech steering stabilizer, neither came with the boots. The only way for that to happen now would be to take the shocks off and add the boots. They never asked me at the 4x4 shop if I even wanted them when they installed the lift, and yes they are like $3 to $7 each depending on where you get them.

 

When I bought my Rancho's the boots came with the shocks. I see a lot of trucks without the boots so I don't know if absolutely necessary.
