Hey guys - My new Westers PCM has arrived. For my 02 HD w/6.0L - This is my first experience with the Westers - and cant wait to install.....only problem is I have to wait till Friday night or Saturday morning to put it in... :fume: .

I ordered the 89-93 Dual tune with Firm shifting - Medium Towing - Remove most of the Torque Managment - 5600 RPM shift points - 130 mph and Tow Button.

Cant wait to get it in.....Do you guys have any recommendations when I install it ???

Thanks

oh yeah and unplug the battery prior to putting the chip in so you dont fry any circuits etc, i think thats what your supposed to do and that lets the computer resets itself so its like a totally new truck just better

Also, as it adjusts to your truck and YOU, it may ping for as long as a full tank of gasoline. You may or may not get instant improvement. But, the longer you drive it, the better it will get. The improvements just keep on growing.

Be patient, get some miles on it during your first weekend. Have fun! Again, it may be awkward and might even stumble and ping at first. Think of it as a birthing process.

I really enjoy mine!!!!

Be patient... it just keeps getting better!!!

Mine pinged for awhile, but it went away, and the truck kept getting better. I didn't realize how much better it was until my dealer overwrote the code at the last service. I'm curious as to how you like the dual tune, because that is what I'm going to have Lyndon give me this time around.

I would suggest installing it on a cold motor, but that is just a suggestion.

Congrats on the new tune. It takes about 15 minutes to install it and it is not complicaterd at all. Just plug it in and drive. That is all there is to it... :fume:

Thanks Guys - Now I feel like Im one of the guys on this website......Once I get it in and drive around - I will give you a peliminary report.

I dont drive my truck every day....usually once a week and all weekend. I have half a tank of 89 - I will fill her up with 93 before I install.

I actually have the oportunity to dyno the truck - if I want to....I won to first two races this year - and one of our sponsors donates 1 hour of dyno time for each class winner - I was going to tune my car - but might take the truck  - all I have to do is qualify for the last race of the season and I automatically win the championship - So I really dont need the car tuning.....but ??

Stay tuned for the full report on the dual tune. - and thanks to butch for all his help !!!!!
