'98 Tranny Flush Question

How many quarts of fluid would I need to take to the dealer to flush my tranny & change filter? It's a buddy's '98 Z-71 350with I think 4l60E Auto Transmission.

If you're doing a complete flush, like the kind with a machine, I think it's somewhere between 14 to 16 quarts, depending if there's a deeper pan and/or auxilary trans cooler. Don't know exactly though.

Oh yea, if just dropping pan and changing filter, probably about 6 to 10 qts. Can't remember how much I used when I did mine. (4L60E, deep pan)

bout 5-6 quarts if just dropping the pan.

and h-ll the do you drop the pan.

you have to remove the front drive shaft, the linkage, and then the pan.

 

I'll let the tranny blow up first !!!

What? To drop the pan all you do is get a c clamp, bend the shift bracket slightly out of the way, and take off the pan!
