Replacement shocks, Brands? Opinions?

Gotta change my shocks soon on my truck. Anyone got any shocks to recommend? I'd like it to ride as nice as stock, perhaps slightly firmer. I know I'm gonna hear Edelbrocks, but I'm not sure I wanna spend $70 a shock....

Alot of guys around here are gonna say Bilstein HD, and I agree. Driven many a truck with Bilsteins and was always liked the ride. They're right up there with Edelbrock for price though. When the time comes I'm going with Edelbrock's for two reasons...My pop has put them in 2 Blazers and one car, and loves em. Second reason: he can get me a good deal on em. Good shocks on the cheap, can't argue with that!

monroe reflex, i think around 45 dollars.i hate a FIRM ride so i like the monroe sensatraks. my truck rode nasty with HD shocks until i put on MONROE SENSATRAKS for 36 dollars. rides wonderful!

I had Bilsteins on my last two Silverados and I like them more then any other shock I have ridden on. It is a good choice that I would do again and will do on my Jeep if the work with with a lift.

I bought the Edelbrock IAS Twin-Tube shocks from SUMMIT RACING for $ 19.95 ea....sure they arent the mono-tube...but I bought 4 for the price of 1.2

Wouldn't recommend the Edelbrock IAS. Myself.

The Bilsteins are an excellent choice. The sensatracks are good as well.

I would have to go with the Bilsteins as well. my roomates truck has like 75K on it and the original Bilsteins and still rides nice n smooth. when the time comes I know what I'm buying

Is their a difference between regular Bilsteins and Bilstein HD's? Or is that just the

truck shock name? Anywhere I can get a good price on them?

with a z71 package and you stick on the HD shocks,yea, YOU will feel a difference.ouch, just plain NASTY.take care

When my shocks went i couldn't afford anything too crazy, so i used Rancho 5000s. So far they have been great. Good on and off road performance, I don't think they are as plush as the Edelbrock or Bilsteins, but they give my truck a nice ride for the price, and with the red lettering and boots they look cool too!
