Installing an Amp to stock Nav

Hi all. I just picked up a 2004 Denali about a week ago and it's really hurting for some bass. In my last Chevy, I just swapped everything out and did a custom system. I want to do the same with my Denali, but I really want to keep me stock HU. Can this be done?

I have the Navigation HU, with XM, and RSE and would like to keep the steering control options as well.

Does PAC make a unit for this? If so, can anyone help me ouot as to which unit I need?

Thanks

FDNY-Denali

I did a little research and found out that I won't be able to get a 4 channel amp to power up door speakers and another to power up my sub without changing my stock HU. PAC told me that the best thing for me to do was buy this PART and I can get thru JP Customs.

I guess I will go that route.

I'll let you know how it works out for me.

My wife has a new 2004 Yukon with the Bose/XM stereo, and I too think it sucks. It has the sub in the console (I assume yours does too) and it is pretty weak. Turning up the bass on the head unit helps some, but it still seems sub-par to me. If it were mine, I think I would consider the JL Audio Stealthbox. Have you seen them?

You most certainly can add amps to the door speakers, and a sub...Unless you have Bose. Then it gets really tricky.

If you don't have Bose, (unless there is something really funny about the NAV unit, and the way it distributes power) you should be able to just throw a couple of LOCs in there ($20 apiece) and be golden.

I'm using one of the C2A-GM24 in my Sierra Denali for my subs. Does a decent job. I've had one problem that I'm trying to fix right now. Occasionally, the factory amp doesn't turn on. All I have to do to get it to start up is turn volume on factory stereo up or down and the amp starts up and sound comes out of my speakers. I've got a new C2A-GM24 on it's way to see if this will fix the problem. To complicate matters I'm also using another PAC adapter for auxilary input (AAI-GM12). When I talked to PAC about my problem they said that the aux input wouldn't cause it so it was probably th C2A-GM24.

So your AUX is for your DVD/TV...ect., correct?

Cause I was thinking of doing the same thing. I just wasn't sure if it was possible to connect the both. My next option was just to hook up a set of wireless headphones for sound on the DVD player.

I am looking to add an amp or 2 to my factory radio in my '04 GMC Sierra. Do they make a plug and play LOC? I don't have a Bose system just the standard cd/casette player. Will the C2A-GM24 work for me or do I need another adapter? Thanks

You can bypass the stock amp with out replacing the HU by following the wiring harnness back and you will run into a connection take that off and run it to the back of the HU my require you to buy an extra connection form local dealar but it will work i have done it before. Also anyone no of a few places that sell OEM navigation units?

The "Premium" Boze systems doesn't help their reputation at all. Denali's and Escalades have Luxury systems that have more bass but little change in treble (unless you add pocket tweeters) but far cleaner sound. It won't win dB drags or blow out windows a block away though.

I just sent a PM about this, but do any of you have experience with using both the PAC-Audio AAI-GM12 aux input adapter AND the C2A-GM24 OEM amp adapter TOGETHER with an 04 Denali (or similar setup?) I got everything factory (nav, XM, cd changer) except the DVD system, which I installed aftermarket and want to connect to the factory Nav HU.

I'd like to add a JL Audio 500/1 amp and then put a JL 10w7v2 sub in the rear empty space where older subs went. Then I would have clean audio from my DVD (via aux adapter) with solid bass from JL and factory Bose sub (with amp adatper).

I also don't want to lose any functions...like having to disconnect my CD changer or disabling XM. There's got to be a way...

very easy just get the line output converters which turns your speaker wires into rca's then atach patch cables to the amp and there ya go. thats what im doing in a few weeks to ad a sub to my stock cd player

I am putting in JL tweeters in place of the blows tweeters in the pillars , should I use the high pass filter that comes with the JL's or leave them off? I have the non-lux premium blows amp.
