Will change my plugs soon, i am assuming the 5.3 has aluminum heads? If so I Will use antiseeze on the plugs, Anyone know the proper torque #s for the plugs? Thanx

Also will probably use factory replacement plugs, will do the change at 60,000 miles currently have 53400 on them.

Yep thats right. I use ft lbs, so its 11 lb ft. I have the gm service manuals for my 2001 (yes, alum heads), and it says 11 lb ft for used heads, 15 lb ft for new aluminum heads and 22 lb ft for new iron heads. Says they want a gap of 1.524mm (0.060")

I should do mine pretty soon, and it should be easy enough, BUT, pls let me know if you run into any snags. TYIA.

Well that kinda scares me I put them in as tight as I could get em. Hopefully overtightening isn't a problem They couldn't have made the one nearest to the passanger side of the cab much harder I don't think. Truck has run fine with the plugs so I guess that torque is the minimum or something? I'm sort of ignorant to that so if someone would fill me in. Thanks.
