removing door panels from a 2004

I am helping a friend put in new interior and exterior door handles in his 2004 2500HD this weekend. I have done the same on my 2002. Does anyone know if the door panels come off the same in a 2004 as a 2002?

 

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Should be the exact same.

I know the Suburbans from 03 to 04 changed so I would be careful.

That outline is the same as what it takes to get my panels off.

99, doesn't your doors have the old style push clips - with all the little fins on them?

 

The 04's (Subs and Tahoes) have no clips that can be removed, it is all molded directly to the panel and the panel slides down into place.

Take it from someone who broke his 04 door panel, they are similar but I found out there is an extra screw behind the lock bezel and the control panel doesn't pop out it has a screw holding it in as well.

Negative. I have to take out a couple screws and the panel pops straight up. Its the same on an 04

I did my exterior handles and the 04 Panel is different that the 99-03. There is the extra screw behind the lock bezel and also an extra one under that round cap at the rear of the door panel. There is also an additional one holding the switch panel on that has to be taken out from the inside of the panel.
