Hi,

I am ready to order some new speakers for my 2002 Silverado. I am going to go with the original sizes to where they just fit behind the speaker grilles like the originals. According to Crutchfield, 5 1/4 - 6 3/4 will bolt right in. Is this really true? Thanks a lot.

Just about any 6.5" component set will drop right in circumference wise, others may need a spacer ring (1/4") so the magnet clears the back of the inner door panel.

I would suggest to ditch the 4x6 rear fill speakers and put the money budgeted into the components or even the amp. If you get a good quality set up front, they will be more than enough sound stage for the entire cab.

A great quality set that is low key and not too many people have heard of, but making great waves in the car audio sector is CDT Classic Series 6.5" set. There is a website, fully authorized, 3 year warranty, that is offering them for the stupid-low price of $149 shipped. Like I stated above, thezeb is an authorized dealer, and the product comes with a 3 year manufacturer's warranty. Cant go wrong with this set at all. It'll surpass most other 6.5" component sets out there..hands down. Here is quick link for you.

well i have a 2003 silverado and i jsut put in some pineer 6.5 and they fix great. the only think you have to do is make skrew holes for them to fit because the factory ones just have like a plactic snap thing around them but 6.5 is a good pick and you have fine many brands that you might like in that size
