3rd Brake Light

Hi guys,

 

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra with a camper shell, see picture below. Last night I was checking to see what lights if any need replacing on my 'new' truck. It is a pet peave of mine to not have all my lights working properly, it just drives me nuts! Anyway, I found some little lights that don't work, which are easy to replace. But then I tested out my brake lights and my 3rd brake light won't work. I checked to see if the OEM cab mounted 3rd brake light worked and nope, that one doesn't either. How can I trouble shot this problem, I would like my 3rd brake light on my camper shell to actually work ... HELP!

When they install the cap some installers remove the cab t.brake light bulb and when they wire in the cap t.brake light behind the left t. light. They use the scotch locks which corrode and don't allow the third brake light in the cap to work.
