geolander tires?

does anyone know if 285/75/16 yokohama geolander tires will fit on a 97 gmc z71.

What is your truck - 1500? 2500? 2WD? 4WD? Any suspension modifications? What size tires are on it now?

My tires are 245/75-16. This means they are 245mm wide with a 75% aspect ratio (height / width) on 16" rims. The outside diameter is therefore 2*(.75*245mm / 25.4 mm per inch) + 16" = 30.47"

If I switch to 285/75-16 tires, the outside diameter increases to 2*(.75*285mm / 25.4) + 16" = 32.83"

That could be enough to make things pretty tight, especially in front. Not to mention the effect on your speedometer, performance, etc.

If available, a lower aspect ratio would decrease the outside diameter. For example a 285/65 tire is about the same height as a 245/75.

They should fit fine. I have 285s on my 92, and I didn't have to change anything on the suspension....Of course, It's an SUV, not a truck.

I have the LT265-75-16 Geolander AT mine fit fine i wish i would have gone with the 285-75-16. I did notice that on a full turn i get very slight rubing on the lower controll arm. Its wso minor it bearly took off the under coating. the only thing i dont like about them is the ride quality. the LT is 8 ply side wall very stiff. I finally played with the PSI and have them at 45 this seem to be the best for comfort ride and wear. They are awsome in the dirt and rain.

well sounds cool, I have wrangler mtr 265's and there too small on my truck, kick asss tires but just to small. I have my torsion bars slightly tightened. there is alot of room for bigger tires.
